Arunachala Temple
 
Arunachala Temple is an living symbol of ancient Tamil architecture. The 11 tiered East Rajagopuram temple towers to a height of 217 feet, while the fortified walls pierced with 4 tower entrances offer a formidable look to this vast temple complex. The Pei Gopuram, Tirumanjana Gopuram and Ammanaiammal gopuram are the other three. The 1000 pillared hall and the temple tank were built by Krishna Deva Rayarar of Vijayanagar. Each of the prakarams has a huge Nandi and several towers such as the Vallala Maharaja Gopuram and Kili Gopuram.

Ramana Maharshi Ashram
 
Ramana Maharshi(Maha or great, Rishi or Enlightened Being) was the awe inspiring sage who's presence graced the renowned sacred Arunachala hill during much of the 20th century. Ramana Maharshi was born in Tiruchuzhli 1879 and lived at Tiruvannamalai till 1950. The spiritual history of Arunachala hill and Tiruvannamalai flourished further by presence of Ramana Maharshi. He was known throughout India and too many in the rest of the world as the silent sage whose peaceful presence and powerful gaze changed the lives of the many who cam into his presence. Ramana Maharshi ashram is still very active in spreading his inspiring gaze throughout the world. His ashram is a must visit place at Thiruvannamalai. Your spiritual connection will be evoked when you meditate at the meditation hall of Raman ashram. Ashram also has lodging and hotel facilities.
Seshadri Swamigal Ashram
Seshadri swamigal was born in Kancheepuram on 1870 and moved to Tiruvannamalai 1889. He was mastered in all the sacred text of Tamil and Sanskrit. He was known for his spiritual eminence and for his spiritual aspiration to reunion with god through prayer, chanting and meditation (austerities) . Very little has been written on Seshadri swamigal. Indeed he is the one introduced Ramana maharshi to this world. People call him as Mother Parvathi and Ramana maharshi being called as Subramanian (the Lord muruga son of Parvathi) . Seshadri Swamigal been known for his miraculous golden hand, whatever he touches everything flourishes. He never wore expensive cloth nor rich food. He is very humble specific in begging food from poorest and often found eating left over at dustbin. He is the greatest saint of 20th century who believed in ascetic to reunion with god.
Yogi Ramsuratkumar Ashram
YogiRamsuratkumar (01-dec-1918 to 20-feb-2001), inspired by Mahabaratha Ramayana and Hindu sadhus, left the material life and turn to spiritual seekings. He traveled from Surat (north India) to Tiruvannamalai for realization and found settled here until end of his life journey
Sathanur Dam
Located 45 minutes (35 kilometer) driving time from Tiruvannamalai. Dam has been built across the river “Pennar” , it is nice place to chill out. Well maintained green foam park and huge trees. There is also a mini zoo with crocodile farm children enjoys it. Government run public bus transportation service is available for 30 minutes from Tiruvannamalai bus stand. Bus travel will cost you 20/ rupees. Better go with snacks and distilled water with you. No restaurants or shops are available at Sathanur dam Sathanur Dam, 32 km from Thiruvannamalai, has a good park; with swimming and boating, a well laid out garden and hotel facilities

The lofty fortifications connecting the precipitous hills called Krishnagiri, Chandragiri and Rajagiri show a triangular disposition Kalyana Mahal is the most impressive multi storeyed building with a pyramidal roof Mughal Emperor Aurangazeb captured the Fort. (AD 1691)The Mosque with Persian inscriptions which record that the mosque was built in AD 1717 - 1718. It contains a number of Tamil inscriptions. Quite a few monolithic ornamental pillars were taken away from this temple to Pondicherry, by the French Governor during AD1761
The Rajagopuram at the main entrance is fashioned in the South Indian Style, while the 'Karuvarai Vimanam' (turret over the sanctum of the temple) is in the Poori Jagannadhar Temple (Orissa) style, and the idols of Pandurangan-Ragumayi are replicas of the idols in Pandaripuram (Maharashtra). Thus the Thennangur Poori Panduranga-Ragumayi Temple is a mixture of three styles respective to their cultures.
Raja GopuramThis temple is situated near Vandavasi (Thiruvannamalai District). Thennangur was previously known as 'Dhatchina Halasyam', there are plenty of bus facilities available from Kanchipuram. One should take a bus which goes to Vandavasi and get down at Thennagur. If a person is coming from Chennai, he should get down at Vandavasi and then catch another bus or auto to reach Thennagur.

The men before entering the sanctum sanctorum are supposed to remove their garments on the upper part of their bodies which is a temple regulation followed by one and all.
The idols of Pandurangan and Ragumayi (10 1/2 feet and 8 1/2 feet in height respectively) are a visual treat

  Panduranga-Ragumayi appears in different adornments. On Saturdays, they are dressed up like  Thirupathi Venkatesaperumal, on Thursdays it is Nijapadha Dharisanam, on Fridays it is Velli Kavasa  Alangaram, on Sundays it is Rajagopalan alangaram with a Rajasthan type of turban and on other days  they are in their own attire.
